With the popularity of hair systems, more and more people are interested in buying these products. Hair pieces, compared to other methods such as hair transplants and minoxidil, are the most efficient way to treat baldness, even though it is known to just cover up your bald areas. When you get a wig, what will you choose to stick the wig with? Today we talk about the benefits and steps of using tape to attach a wig.
Why choose tape?
Easy to install
The installation of the tape is faster than the installation of the glue. It only takes 30-60 minutes to install. If implemented properly, the tape can last between 6-12 weeks.
Less damage to the hair
Some people think that wigs and hair extensions can damage their real hair and if you think so too, you are better off choosing to use tape to attach your wig. They are very light and even though they will keep your wig from falling out, you won't feel much effort when you remove it. This means that tape does very little damage to your hair and you don't have to worry too much about it.
The look of authenticity
Because they are stuck to the scalp with a normal cloth, they are virtually invisible to the onlooker's eye and are therefore undetectable.
A wide variety of hairstyle options
Thanks to the application of tape lace foreheads, you will have many hairstyle options when using tape glue.
Steps to attach hairpiece with tape
If you find it too much of a hassle to use glue to attach your wig, then try using hairpiece tape.
Hairpiece tape is available in different strengths to suit both short and long term fixings.
Here are the steps for attaching a wig using hairpiece tape.
Cut some small pieces of hairpiece tape, peel off a layer from the tape and stick it to the inside edge of the hairpiece.
Once you feel that the tape is well positioned for the back of the attachment session, peel off the second layer.
Place your hairpiece on your head and press down on the outer edge for a firm hold.
Short-term tape
If you are willing to refresh your hair accessory system bonding daily or every few days, short term hair accessory tape is your best option. 3M clear tape is less sticky, but will hold your hair accessory securely in place for a day. Red tape will hold for about 2-3 days.
Long- term tape
Some hair accessory tapes can hold your hair accessory for more than three weeks and are ideal for long wearing hair accessory systems. Euro Flex tape has small holes along the tape that allow the scalp to breathe and can hold your hair accessory for 4-6 weeks. There is also Supertape, Blue tape, or Max Adhesives Prodigy Tape, all of which are good options for extended wear fixation.
While hairpiece tape is easy to apply and will be held securely in place without your wig coming off easily, it is more likely to leave a sticky residue on your scalp, so it can be more time consuming to remove. You should purchase items specifically designed to clean up the tape.
By now you should have a clearer idea of how to use tape to attach a wig. In addition to using tape, we also use glue and hair clips, so if you are interested in the other two methods, hope you can read on in our blog.
